Yazmin actually began making accessories as a fluke when her mother had a clothing boutique in Downtown Vallarta.

When she returned to Puerto Vallarta after living and studying in Tepic for two years, she was 20 years old and wasn't sure in which direction she should use her talents.

She began to experiment with accessories that her mother bought to sell in the boutique. When Yazmin's creations started selling from the first day, she was surprised that her pieces were so popular and was fascinated by how much she enjoyed making them. Her mother encouraged her to keep doing it.

Now she experiments with many materials and makes native accessories with threads, feathers and beads and works with semi-precious stones, silver and gold.

Lately Yazmin has been working in different styles including an "old style" as she calls it with the "Queen's Jewels" and a very vintage and antique look.

Since she has ventured into the world of jewelry, she is working with creating pieces in silver, with the lost wax technique and gemstones.

She loves to listen to new age music and drink tea, "Creating is fun and that's my inspiration!"

You can visit Yazmin at the Saturday Summer NewMarket Co-Op at Coco's Kitchen every week from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Coco's is located in Old Town Vallarta at Pulpito 122 across from Paradise Community Center.
