With a history of 24 years, Martin Parra and Puerto Vallarta are proud to announce the 25th edition of the Professional Tennis Tournament to take place on July 23 - 26, 2014.

The venue will be Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Convention Center. In addition to the 24 professional players, there will be an amateur tournament for children and youth.

The tournament is supported and sponsored by Sheraton Buganvilias Resort & Convention Center and Siete Leguas Tequila.

Of the 24 participants in the men's singles competition, 12 will come direct according to the ranking of the Mexican Association of Tennis Professionals, there will be 4 wild cards (special guests) and 8 qualifiers.

Making his debut at the professional level will be Puerto Vallarta's Gerardo López Villaseñor, who currently trains in the United States where he has won major tournaments like the most promising youth for  the U.S. Open.

"Here will be debuting Gerardo López Villaseñor (Jerry) whose team has given him permission to come to play this tournament, and will play for the first time in the professional category; also confirmed is the attendance of David Marcelo Amador, a former player in the Davis Cup of Mexico team," states Martin Parra, Director of Tennis at the Sheraton courts, who has over 40 years of being associated with the sport of tennis.

The tournament is being promoted in Guadalajara and throughout Mexico to bring families to Puerto Vallarta to watch the games.

"We must inform the tourists that Puerto Vallarta is not only sun and beach clubs, but also a venue where we encourage sports and competitions so we extend an invitation to all those people who like to watch and play tennis to join us and also enroll the youth in the Amateur Tournament," concluded Parra.
