Amigos de La Cruz is looking for a new Director for the Medical Assistance Program.

This rewarding program helps the medically underserved obtain badly needed medications and to fill the gaps in the Mexican medical programs.

Over the years the program has helped numerous clients, mostly children, obtain surgeries, medications and transportation to medical specialists in Guadalajara and Mexico City.

The program is currently purchasing anti-seizure medications and ostomy supplies for 3 long-term clients.

The ideal candidate would have some Spanish (although we have people willing to help with translation) and preferably be a year round resident. A medical background is helpful, but not required. This is a volunteer position that while not time consuming, does carry responsibility and decision-making.

The program consists of a committee of 5, including the director, to help with decision-making and to provide coverage for vacations.

Although policies have been written and client records are kept through the use of Google Docs, the new Director will have the ability to be creative in organization and implementation of the program.

The position is an exciting way to interact with the Mexican community, making new friends and sharing their joys as well as struggles.
