Election Day in Nayarit will be Sunday July 6th and sales of alcohol both retail and restaurant is prohibited between midnight Friday and Sunday.
This means, if you wish to imbibe over the weekend, you will have to do a bit of provisioning.
OR, you can cross the Ameca River into Jalisco, where there are no elections this weekend.
However, don't be stupid and drink there and drive back to Nayarit because the police (and specifically the Transito) are not stupid and will have additional sobriety check points set up. You do NOT want to be pulled over for a DUI. Trust us, NOT WORTH IT.
Do some planning, go on the wagon, whatever. Be advised.
