The airline Interjet will operate 22 additional flights for the summer, which will add to the 28 frequencies that the company has to Puerto Vallarta from Mexico City and Toluca.
Lourdes de la Torre Gutiérrez, Station Manager for Interjet, reports that these 22 additional operations respond to positive expectations with the airline for the months of July and August.
"Currently we are operating four daily flights arriving with good occupancy during the week and great numbers on weekends from Mexico City and Toluca," said the airline executive.
Interjet now operates three flights from Mexico City and one from Toluca daily. The 22 additional flights will meet the demand for the summer season domestic tourism to the beach destination of Puerto Vallarta.
"The domestic market has always responded very well, even in the crisis years. Domestic tourism is very good and the nationals have not stopped traveling, hence the company is interested in operating additional flights in order ensure a greater number of trips by nationals to Puerto Vallarta," added De la Torre.
The 22 additional flights will operate from July 16 until August 15 and will use the same equipment, the Airbus 320 aircraft which holds 150 passengers.
Flights are expected to reach an average occupancy of 90 percent during the week and 100 percent occupancy during the weekend.
