The conservatory’s roof is now ready for the polycarbonate panels. After the installation of these panels, there’s only a few finishing details before this building is complete.

By mid-month, the Vallarta Botanical Garden staff will begin work on design and installation for the conservatory displays. Even before construction is over we’ve set our sights towards fundraising for this next phase along with the conservatory’s first year operational budget and the completion of the new orchid laboratory.

The building construction funds of 2,500,000 pesos (approximately $200,000 USD) were reached early this year.

Contributions are still needed and matching funds of up to $50,000 USD have been extended until the end of 2014!

Our present goals are:

• Plants & Educational Displays - 800,000 pesos (approximately $60,000 USD) - Goal date is November, 2014

• 1st Year Operational Budget - 400,000 pesos (approximately $30,000 USD) - Goal date is December, 2014

• Orchid Laboratory Completion - 800,000 pesos (approximately $60,000 USD) - Goal date is April, 2015

For those who have already contributed we extend a heartfelt thank-you. For those who would still like to contribute, we invite you to donate now. Tax-deduction receipts are available to Mexican, US, and Canadian taxpayers.

Please contribute to the legacy and benefit to our beloved Vallarta community that this new orchid conservatory will provide!

Matching funds available until the end of 2014!
