Portugal to Invest Over 2 Billion USD in Riviera Nayarit Costa Capomo Project

During his official visit to Portugal, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto announced that Portuguese capital will flow into Riviera Nayarit’s new project: Costa Capomo.
 
At the closing event of the forum “Business Opportunities between Mexico and Portugal” celebrated in Lisboa on June 5th, presidents Peña Nieto and his Portuguese counterpart Anibal Cavaco Silva, announced that Portuguese companies will invest $2.16 Billion USD to build up to 7,208 rooms in the Costa Capomo project in Compostela, Nayarit.
 
The National Fund for the Promotion of Tourism (Fonatur) came to an agreement with the Portuguese business group Mota-Engil, which forecasts 3,206 rooms to be built for hotels and 4,002 rooms to be residential.
 
Besides it is also planned an 18-hole golf course designed by Greg Norman, two beach clubs and two public accesses to the beach in four kilometers of extension.
 
The government estimates that the Costa Capomo development will generate over $2 billion USD of economic output and will create over 40,000 new jobs.
