SEAPAL Vallarta Introduces 'Gogo' Mascots in Teaching Young Students Water Conservation Team Angels - NN Noticias

Young students in Puerto Vallarta were introduced to "Goguis" who is the newest member of the "Gogo" family of mascots by César Abarca Gutiérrez, Director of SEAPAL Vallarta, during the official presentation of the character.

The goal of the mascots program by SEAPAL Puerto Vallarta is to teach children in preschool and elementary to be water guardians in a fun way and in a festive atmosphere.

Students at Teresa Barba Palomera and Agustin Flores Contreras schools were invited to join in the welcome festivities for "Goguis."

"Goguis is a character representing a small, flirty, loving and very responsible child. The main role of Goguis is to teach all students in kindergarten and primary school in the municipality how we can become water keepers and still have fun and have a good time," said Gutiérrez during the official presentation.

This was an emotional meeting where students were presented with energetic songs, dances and competitions organized by the Department of Water Culture.

An excited 7 year old student, Maria Luisa Teresa, expressed her joy in meeting Goguis. "I loved 'Goguita' and really liked how she danced and told us to take care of water in brushing our teeth and washing our clothes. She teaches us to conserve water at school and in our homes and sometimes it is the little ones like us who set the example," she said.

In turn, six year old Alia Guadalupe Chacon Rodriguez expressed her excitement to be part of this water festival. "They are very funny and we got to dance and do contests to win prizes; It is a fun way to conserve water and encourage us to do so in our surroundings."

Meanwhile, teacher Martha Rosalina Torres Salcedo, Director of elementary school Teresa Barba Palomera, said she was proud to host the presentation of "Goguis" as part of the strategy SEAPAL Vallarta is creating to instill awareness in the use of our vital liquid--water. "We had a very nice day today and the students were very interested, exuding an amazing spirit and excelled motivation to conserve water. We thank SEAPAL for allowing us to be the first school to meet Goguis. It was fun and we all really enjoyed it," she said.

Finally, teacher Doris Harrison, Director of elementary school Agustín Flores Contreras, thanked the head of the agency for the invitation to spend the day in this great festival for water. "The Director of SEAPAL made the invitation for us to attend as a school community. These types of events that they organize serve to reinforce the work we do in the classroom. I recognize the work of the SEAPAL Team to carry not only the message of water conservation to schools, but by visiting the colonies that are disadvantaged by not having this resource of life and to help solve the problems," she said.
