Even though the high season is winding down, there are still plenty of events and festivities happening this week in Vallarta-Nayarit.

Following is just an overview of all the events and festivities happening this week in Vallarta-Nayarit.

Rodrigo Ballester Exhibit in San Pancho - Monday

In step with its title of Cultural Capital of the Riviera Nayarit, San Pancho (aka San Francisco) is extending an invitation to view a new art exhibit to be displayed at Bodega 3, an exhibition space that recently opened its doors to presentations by artists not belonging to the San Pancho Collective.

The current expo is titled Cuaderno de artista: Guorquin proces, created by self-taught plastic artist Rodrigo Ballester, originally from Xalapa, Veracruz.

The inauguration of this particular gallery was on April 30th, a date that falls on Mexico’s celebration of Children’s Day. The artwork produced by Ballester will occupy the entire Bodega 3 gallery floor in order to fully display his splendid pieces.

Restaurant Week Vallarta-Nayarit - Monday through Sunday
    
With “one of the longest runs in contemporary Mexican culinary events,” Puerto Vallarta Restaurant week will celebrate its tenth year in 2014.

Puerto Vallarta is one of Mexico’s top culinary centers — with a diverse selection of restaurants that range from street fare to five stars. It seems little surprise that the city’s restaurant week, running from May 15th-31st, boasts such a glowing reputation.

Fandango at Teatro Vallarta - Wednesday
    
Fandango returns to the Teatro Vallarta stage for Wednesday evening performances through May of 2014.

The amazing stage show Fandango brings together theater, dance and music in an international Mexican format with more than 40 dancers and musicians.

Fandango is an emotional show that fills us with pride for all of Mexico and it was created here in the state of Jalisco.

The Wednesday evening performances begin at 6:30 pm. Show dates are May 21 & 28.

Vallarta Gay Pride 2014 - Thursday through Sunday

Puerto Vallarta’s annual LGBT event “Vallarta Pride” will take place this year on May 22 to 26, 2014. This year, the one 3-day weekend event increases into a week-long cultural celebration of Puerto Vallarta and its international population including music festivals, beach parties, fashion shows, mass commitment ceremony and activities in participating bars and clubs.

Puerto Vallarta offers an LGBT inclusive atmosphere in is Romantic Zone area which is home to many businesses that are LGBT-owned and/or target the consumer, including beaches, tours, activities and restaurants bars and clubs to choose from. LGBT travelers have the option of choosing from gay friendly resorts, hotels, lodges, bed and breakfasts and guest houses.

Voices Without Borders Concerts by PVMC - Friday

As part of Vallarta Pride 2014, the Puerto Vallarta Men's Chorus is proud to present its "Voices Without Borders" concerts featuring the Reveille Men's Chorus from Tucson, Arizona.

Join us for a fabulous selection of hits on Friday, May 23, 2014, 7:00 and 9:00 pm, at Act II Entertainment Stages Main Stage, entrance on Basilio Badillo, corner of Insurgentes, in the Romantic Zone.

Pink & Proud for Women at El Arrayan - Friday

As part of the official calendar of Vallarta Pride 2014, Pink & Proud Women's Party will take place for the first time. This is women's only event, which aims to celebrate, promote and strengthen the identity of the lesbian community in Puerto Vallarta.

On Friday, May 23rd, 2014 starting at 10:00 pm, El Arrayán Restaurant owned by Carmen Porras and Claudia Victoria, will welcome both local women and visitors alike to the great pink party during the week of celebrations of Gay Pride in this city.

Wind Festival in Bucerias - Friday through Sunday

Bucerías, the Riviera Nayarit’s Wind Capital, is hosting the Wind Festival for the fifth year in a row. This international kitesurf competition is considered the most important stop on this leg of the National Tour held by the Mexican Kitesurf Association (AMK by its acronym in Spanish).

The weekend of May 16-18 will be one of intense activity in the waters off of Bucerías’ shores. The event will bring in approximately 200 participants, about 30 more than last year.

Agustín Tapia, Secretary of the AMK and one of the presidents of the Wind Festival organization, stated there are very few places to practice kitesurf in Mexico and the Riviera Nayarit has the best conditions to do so.

ALS Golf Tournament at Flamingos - Saturday
    
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, begins by hindering the mobility of a limb and advances steadily through the body. It's a mysterious disease of unknown origin which is progressive, requires expensive treatments and that, so far, in incurable.

A couple of years ago, Captain Alejandra Lemus, Ex-Director of Operations of the Flamingos Golf Club, was diagnosed with ALS. Her friends organized a fundraiser golf tournament in her honor for the last couple years at Flamingos. It was such a great success that there will be the Third Annual ALS Golf Tournament.

The format for the 2013 ALS Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 24, will be Foursome A Go Go with the shotgun tee-off at 9:00 am, again taking place at Flamingos Golf Club.

CVIS Surfathon in Sayulita - Saturday
    
Join us on Saturday, May 24, from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at the main break in Sayulita to surf and play with local surfers and Costa Verde International School (CVIS) students.

This Surf-Out fundraising event will be hosted by James Pribham, Sergio and Patricio Gonzalezo. No experience is required and all proceeds go to CVIS scholarship fund. Send a kid to school!

The after party will be held at Punta Sayulita Beach House from 1:00 until 3:00 pm. Food, drinks and fun will be provided for 250 pesos and free for those surfers who raise more than 250 pesos.

Beers, Boys & Burgers Pool Party - Sunday
    
Want to see hot guys in swimwear every Sunday? And top off that view with unlimited juicy burgers and cold beer? Then our Beers, Boys & Burgers event at Hotel Mercurio is your perfect Sunday Funday!

Every Sunday, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, the pool at the Hotel Mercurio is the hottest scene in the city for hot guys in their sexiest swimwear making it a favorite hangout for both residents and visitors.
