The Municipal Government of Puerto Vallarta has re-launched the "Casa Digna" Program for the benefit of more than 9,000 households throughout the municipality. This is the second consecutive year of this program.
Mayor Ramón Guerrero Martínez led the re-start of this program in their mode of housing support, where 372 families living in the colonies of Primavera parte alta, Primero de Mayo, Ramblases, Ramblases Ecológico, Santa María, Linda Vista Océano, Ampliación Linda Vista Océano, Del Mar y Jardine received block, tile, water tanks, paint and cement to improve their homes.
"Our commitment is not only words but in deeds," said the Mayor, who confirmed their interest to work and fight for the welfare of the families who need it most. "We will from now on strive to break the records as we are the only municipality in the country to bet on the less fortunate, so in all humility I say thank you for your trust in this government."
He noted that last year's program supported 7,000 families, but this year it will support more than 9,000 homes, as a sign that Vallartenses continue to have a closeby government without distinction that supports those who need to have a safe home. This program has never been done before and works in rescuing colonies which have become forgotten.
Guerrero Martínez explained that this year, the beneficiaries will receive the booklet "Together We Build the Future," giving support and ensuring that each year they can move forward in the construction and improvement of their heritage.
"The cherished dream of having a safe and decent home for your family and a heritage for your children is now becoming a reality. I know we can't build your home overnight but I know that with this new model we will be supporting the poor people every year and ensuring that year after year the Municipal Government will be there with the materials to improve the homes," he said.
A new feature of this program is that this year highly resistant laminated wood sheets of high quality will be delivered, with a guaranteed life of 10 years.
"This government does comply," say neighbors.
During startup of this program, Mrs. Maria Zuno, President of the Jardines Colony, thanked the work in this area and the benefits for the various colonies of the city by the Municipal Government. "They were in direct contact with the residents with the question 'What do you need in your home to live with dignity?' and are supplying those needs."
Likewise, Mrs. Guadalupe Tello, recipient of the "Casa Digna" Program, said "on behalf of my neighbors and yours truly, we thank you for fulfilling our dreams and continuing in supporting us."
