Jesús Rodríguez Campoy, Deputy Director of Transportation in Puerto Vallarta, confirmed the ongoing program of "Saving Lives" Breathalyzer tests for motorists, especially during this holiday period of Holy Week and Easter.
These are measures randomly administered to vehicle drivers implemented in order to reduce the risks of car accidents caused by drivers under the influence of alcohol.
Though the checkpoints are randomly located throughout the city, Campoy added that the traffic around the busiest beaches and attractions are being heavily monitored.
Campoy also stressed that these measures are only a part of several actions involved on our highways as security operations during this holiday period, as evidenced by rerouting of vehicles in high traffic areas.
