By the end of the 70´s, while enjoying a boat ride to Las Animas beach, Josefina Partida fell in love with this unique place. Its tropical forest mountains, its white sand beaches and the crystalline blue of the sea made her want to stay forever. After a few visits she decided that this beach was the place where she wanted to build her piece of heaven on earth. This same day, on a paper napkin, she and Don Jesús Andrade, member of the Comunidad Indígena de Cabo Chacala, signed the contract that initiated this adventure.

Since then this place has gone through various stages and habitants but has always kept its natural magic. We are a place that takes care of the environment and makes all efforts possible to cause the least impact on our earth.

A very important part of our project has been to permeate to the community the importance of handling natural resources consciously. Thanks to the constant capacitating given to the staff we have advanced in this road. For now, all personnel at Casitas Maraika is environment conscious and ecologically responsible making possible a good natural resources management.

The mountain water spring that gushes at Casitas Maraika provides tap water to the Casitas. This water flow is filtered twice before reaching the faucets. Although the water spring provides with enough volume for use and maintenance of the place, we insist on the correct use and saving of this precious resource.

Located where the Occidental Sierra Madre touches the Pacific Ocean, surrounded by tropical forest, each of the Casitas has it´s own personality. Constructed in a unique rustic chic style and built with organic materials, this “Hand Made” concept invites you to relax and enjoy the view of our beaches enclosed on the Natural Sanctuary for whales, turtles and sea life of Bahía de Banderas.

Part of your wonderful vacation experience at Casitas Maraika will be the close coexistence with nature in this protected tropical forest. Admire the macaws fly by, the butterflies and abundance of wildlife. Also enjoy the delicious regional food from our menu prepared with exclusive recipes from our Casitas Maraika chefs.

At Casitas Maraika our chefs elaborate a Daily Menu. They select the freshest and high quality ingredients offered at the market and by local fishermen to prepare the food served to your table at Medusa Club House.

Medusa Club House has a breathtaking view of Bahía de Banderas.

The Restaurant/Bar is located on the first level, as well as a living room, a hammock and lounge chair area placed in a sand box, bonfires terrace and a full bathroom.

On the second level you will find a reading lounge, board games, Casitas Maraika library and wi-fi connection. There is daily hotel cleaning service.

At Casitas Maraika we have assembled a list of services we think can add to your vacation experience. You can acquire them directly with the facilitators. Payment is cash only. We remind you these  activities are not included in hotel and meal costs.

A known secret by locals of Puerto Vallarta and shared with Team Angels is that Casitas Maraika offers day-trips, so if you're already in the area you can spend the day discovering, swimming, eating, drinking and having fun. The day-trip is offered for only 300 pesos initially per person and as you enjoy the fine dining and refreshments, the 300 pesos is deducted from your bill.

Casitas Maraika is only accessible by boat and is located in the state of Jalisco, México, south of Puerto Vallarta in Banderas Bay, 30 minutes away from Puerto Vallarta’s Airport and 10 minutes by boat from Boca de Tomatlán (the nearest town with road access).
