Torneo Arena Vallarta 2014 (9 Suertes)

The Organizing Committee of the Third National Championship Program has confirmed that the Charro Fair will be held on January 30 - February 2, 2014, at the Vallarta Arena.

There will be 24 of the best Charro teams in the country, including recent national champions as well as the participation of seven skirmishes.

President of the Organizing Committee, Alfonso Bernal Romero, announced that there are other events included such as the Second Lassoing of Las Estrellas, the Third National Open Lassoing and the traditional 'Maleconeada,' as well as the presentation of Julio Preciado and the double finale to close the festivities.

The activities of this Grand Prix 2014 begins on Wednesday, January 29, with the opening of the Photo Expo "Like the Charro Sport" by Dr. Antonio Jimenez Pliego in the City Hall of Puerto Vallarta from 7:00 pm. Then, at 8:30, the night festival will begin with Mexican Traditions in Arcos del Malecón, with the presentation of Xiutla Ballet and Mariachi Real de America.

On Thursday, January 30, in the chapel of Hacienda Serena at the Vallarta Arena, Mass will be at 2:00 pm and 3:30 will begin the opening ceremony. From 4:00, actions of the Santo Cristo squads (Coahuila), the Charros of Nayarit and Hacienda Serena will be presented along with the beauty of the Nayaritas Women Charros.

At 7:30 pm, the second competition will begin with Charros El Ayate (Chis), Decharros.com (NL) and Hacienda Serena (Jal), along with  Hacienda de Triana (Zac).

The festivities will start at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 31, with Rancho El Quevedeño (Nay), San José del Valle (Nay) and Hacienda de Triana (Jal), with the Rancho Los Olivos de Jalisco skirmish by the female sector.

There will be the presentation of the Mariachi Navidad de Mascota, Jalisco, and at 4:00 the competition will start between Rancho Las Cuatas (Nay), Tres Potrillos (Jal), Rancho Agua Santa (Jal) and Perla del Pacífico (BC), with the women from the Rancho Los Olivos of Jalisco.

At 7:30 pm, there will be the Lassoing of Las Estrellas, the presentation of the escaramuza Tuitán of Zacatecas and the 3rd Open National Lassoing with which the website decharros.com celebrates its XI anniversary. At 11:00 pm, the traditional Maleconeada will be presented.

On Saturday, February 1, entering the fray will be CYM Tamariz (Pue), and 2013 national champion of this tournament, Rancho El Edén (EdoMex), runner-up 2013. Tres Regalos (Q. Roo) and Rancho El Pitayo (Qro), with the beauty of Las Alteñitas de Jalisco, second national place 2013 will follow at 3:00, along with Tequila Don Roberto (Jal), Rancho La Biznaga (EdoMex), Puente de Camotlán (Nay), third in 2013, and Valle de Saltillo (Coah), with the ladies Rancho Soviló (Jal), fifth place in Tepic 2013.

The elimination rounds will begin at 6:30 with Regional Villa Oro (DF), Tamaulipecos (Tamaulipas) and Rancho 50 (ver), with the female squad Heritage Charra (ver), followed by entertainment by Julio Preciado at 10:30.

Mass at the Arena Vallarta will start the festivities on Sunday, February 2, at the chapel of Hacienda Serena at 10:30 am. At 12:00 noon, the 4th, 5th and 6th place finalists will be presented along with the band La Encantadora. At 4:00, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place contenders will be presented along with entertainment by the Mariachi Real de America.

The judges of this Grand Prix 2014 are Javier García Martínez (EdoMex), Fernando Hernandez Bravo (Hidalgo), José Luis Casillas Elizondo and Sanchez Rogelio Macías, both of Jalisco. The skirmish judge will be "Luvy" Mata (Jal).

Tournament announcers are Raúl Díaz Carrillo (Jalisco), Trinidad Peralta Rivera (EdoMex) and Apolonio Ibarra Reséndiz (Mich), as well as Pepe Saldívar, bilingual broadcaster, of the program "Así es mi Tierra," in the WCGO 1590 am of Evanston-Chicago, Illinois.
