Here's a chance to get your creative juices flowing at the Cat Art Contest and fundraiser for PuRR Project, No Kill Feline Shelter.

To enter, go to the Fireworks Pottery Studio in Los Mercados between now and February 21. Tell the owner, Bea, that you'd like to enter the PuRR Project Cat Art Contest.

Choose a ceramic item of your choice to paint from a large selection at the studio. It will be yours to keep-or donate. Pay Bea for the item you choose to enter in the competition. (Most items are 100 pesos and up).

Bring along an "entry form" which contains your name, address, home & cell phone in PV and your email address which you will give to Bea along with the 100 pesos entry fee. There is a 50 peso entry for each additional entry by the same artist, plus the cost of the ceramic piece(s) you choose to create. 100% of the entry fee will go to PuRR Project for the care, feeding and adoption of kitties.

All artwork must be original with emphasis on a cat-related motif. You may use photos and books (and Bea) for inspiration, but you must add your own originality to your work.
    
You must paint and complete your entry for judging by February 21, 2014, and the judging will take place on February 26 from 5:00 - 6:00 pm at the Firewords Pottery Studio. Judging will be conducted by local aristoCats.

Following the judging, a wine and hors d'oeuvres artists reception will be held in the courtyard. Contributing Artists will attend
reception FREE. Artist's guests, famous people and the general public pay 100 pesos per person, payable at the door.

All ages welcome! Enter as many pieces as you want - the more you enter, the more chances to win! no artistic talent needed!

Contest winners will be judged on the following cat-egories:

• Most Creative - Dinner and Show for two
• Most Humorous - Dinner and Show for two
• CATastrophe (Worst of show) - 1 hour free Art Lesson with Bea!

All items will be on display (and some for sale!) at Fireworks from February 19-26, 2014.

Entries left at Fireworks after March 1, 2014, will be sold and all profit donated to the PuRR Project.

Not responsible for lost ceramics or accidental breakage. Need not be present to win but you must inform Bea what to do with your prize if you win.
