New Environmentally Friendly Streetlights Installed in Puerto Vallarta NotiVallarta

Puerto Vallarta's Mayor, Ramón Martínez Guerrero, accompanied by the Ambassador of France in Mexico, Elisabeth Beton Delègue, officially launched the start of operations by Citelum. To date, they have changed more than 5,000 of the more than 18,000 streetlights that exist in Puerto Vallarta, with a modern and environmentally friendly system that will guarantee a better street lighting service and also ensure a 30 percent savings in energy and resources for the city.

"With this system, we will save resources, save money and renew our lights," said the mayor, who recalled that one of the recurring requests in the colonies was indeed streetlights.

"We are transforming our colonies. This lighting, in addition to being brighter, has greater range, allowing us to save at least 30 percent of energy and that energy savings will be paying the entire renewal over the next 10 years in our city. With this technology, we will be ensuring that Puerto Vallarta is lit for the next 10 years and that certainly gives security to citizens and generates social justice. Today we are bringing light to where none existed before," said the Mayor.

He reiterated that it is an action that starts from the colonies of the city. He also thanked Ambassador Elisabeth Beton Delègue for giving prominence to this event and adding trust and support for the French company Citelum.

Meanwhile, Elisabeth Beton Delègue stated that she was proud to share this new lighting in the colonies which is "a very important issue because it changes the lives of families, gives more security, more beauty too, and is an important element in improving the public spaces."

The Mayor and Ambassador proceeded to turn on the new streetlights on Av. Mezquital in the Jardines del Puerto colony.

Notably, the modernization of public lighting system, has the highest "LED" technology, metal halide and sodium vapor, and for administration and maintenance of each point of light, the software "muse web pack."

Each new fixture provides correct light levels and light quality that the citizens deserve. It is also important to note that this system will also save on maintenance and operation expenses.

This event was also attended by executives of Citelum in North America and Mexico, councilors, officials and locals.
