PLEASE HELP... Our puppies have homes waiting in Calgary!!!

Here are photos of Abbey and Jasmine, just two of our puppies that have homes waiting for them.  They just need a travel companion to accompany them to Calgary.

The number of animals we can place is entirely dependent on us getting them to their destination forever homes.  We really need your help.  Please share with anyone you know who might be able to assist us in getting these sweethearts to Calgary.

As always, the SPCA will take care of all the paperwork and expenses involved with their transportation, as well as ensure someone will be there to pick up the puppies.

Adorable Dog in the Spotlight... Benito

Benito means "Little Blessing".  You could not be more blessed than to have little Benito in your life.  He is so cuddly and appreciative of any affection.  He was living on the streets surviving on handouts until one of our "Angels" rescued him.  Thank you Jennifer, you have won your wings.  Benito is a male poodle mix and weighs 8 kilos.

Adorable Cats in the Spotlight...Camilo & Trini

It's been a while since we last had the spotlight on these fine felines.  They have been with us a number of months now, living with their foster families.  They were all at the library recently, but unfortunately they still have not found their forever home.

Shelter News

Make a difference... Open Your Heart and Home to a Shelter Animal

Want to have some fun? Well, we are looking for volunteers to go to the shelter and cuddle and walk the dogs. We want to be sure all our rescues get the love and attention they deserve and as frequently as possible. If you would enjoy spending a few hours a day or a week, please contact us to make arrangements and get directions to the shelter.
 

We thought you'd like to see a bit more of the physical space at the new shelter.  This photo shows the length of the area from where the dog kennels begin to the end where there is the open space for them to run and play.
 
There are also standard size kennels with each space having a covered portion as well as a grassy outside area.

Last week we made a special note thanking Lisa Love for the wonderful sweaters she made for the puppies.

Adoption News

We are happy to report some recent adoptions.  

Helen, the feline that Maria de los Angeles was fostering has been adopted after many months in foster care.
 
Pumpkin has been adopted by Daniel Zarate.

We are also excited about the new homes found for Miel, Suki and Daisy in Calgary.  
 
Again, we are trying to get a few more dogs up to Calgary where their forever homes are waiting. If you can be a travel companion to one or more of these puppies, please contact Janice Chatteron ASAP..
 
Adoption Locations

The SPCA de Puerto Vallarta continues to host adoption events every Saturday at two popular locations:

1) Los Mangos Library: Biblioteca Los Mangos, on Avenida Francisco Villa, just past the Pemex station and around the corner from Costco.  Time: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm.

2) Old Town Farmers Market: Our booth is now located on Pino Suarez, between V. Carranza and Basilio Badillo along El Jardin de Ninos Emiliano Zapata school. Time: 9:30 am - 2:00 pm.

Everyone is welcome to come and play with the animals, chat with us about them and about the SPCA, and of course, think about adoptions!  
 
Farmers Market

The two SPCA rescued dogs, Sissy and Gaby, that were at the Old Town Farmers Market are still looking for that perfect new home.

Mateo stopped by to say hello with his new family, Michael Baietti and Joel Bulik. He looked absolutely gorgeous and blissfully happy!! So wonderful when old friends stop by for a visit.

Lot of visitors came to the SPCA table to meet our rescue dogs, purchase our calendars, bumper stickers, t-shirts and to make donations to the SPCA.  We just received a new shipment of SPCA t-shirts for both men and women which can be found at the Old Town Farmers Market and at Cassandra Shaw Jewelry. All sizes are now available.  

For those looking for home made dog food treats, Sylvia is returning to the Farmers Market with her new jerky dog treat which is the only dog treat that Chihuahuas Bean and Leonardo will eat.  They are the famous PV jewelry models pictured on the back of the SPCA t-shirts.

Los Mangos Library
 
We had seven dogs available for adoption (Alpha, Coqueta, Spot, Dotty, Miel, Daisy and Suki) and three cats (Camilo, Licha and Trini) looking for their forever homes. Looks like we have found homes for a few of our dogs in Calgary!

Thanks to our volunteers:  Luz, Maria de los Angeles, Angela, Fernando, Debra, Eilene and our newest volunteer Linda Marina.

Currently the SPCA de PV is selling calendars, bumper stickers, tote bags and t-shirts as a way to raise funds. You may buy any of these items at the Library or Farmers' Market, or at Cassandra Shaw Jewelry located at 276 Basilio Badillo. (100% of the purchase price supports the SPCA de PV)
