How do you know that High Season has finally arrived? When you have to start checking your calendar to find out if you can go to a great event? Better add this one right now: Wednesday, November 13th, 6:30 – 9:00 pm, “Let’s Get The Party Started!” Cocktail Party at Sandzibar Restaurant at the Alamar Beach Club in La Cruz.
This will be the kickoff benefit for this season of Acción en La Cruz and will feature gourmet appetizers, live music and no-host bar along with all of your favorite permanent and returning friends for an evening of good food, drink, music and camaraderie.
You’ve seen women throughout the town cleaning and sweeping and bagging garbage and litter on the main streets, by the soccer field, on the highway, in the arroyos and throughout ALL of the colonias. These are the volunteers of Acción en La Cruz. In return for their community work, they receive a “despensa,” a box of provisions that allows them to provide for their families with pride and dignity in having provided a valuable public service. This is the initial stage of the program and currently provides 18 local families with weekly dispensas.
However, after both PEACE and Amigos de La Cruz were no longer able to help fund the project due to diminishing operational funds, Acción en La Cruz was going to cease operations. That’s why a partnership was established with the Fundación Punta de Mita to keep this valuable community resource alive. But this means that it is now entirely privately funded by people like you who understand that this is more than street cleaning; that this is a vital step in helping to provide a positive future for La Cruz. It is a social investment on your part when you support the program.
If you believe, like we do, that helping our community to help itself, that working together towards a positive future for our fair pueblo are superb reasons to join together for a celebration, then please plan on attending the “Let’s Get The Party Started!” Cocktail Party. Donation tickets are available in advance or at the door for 300 pesos. If you plan to buy tickets at the door, please RSVP to Landon so that we can provide an accurate head count for Sandzibar.
