Lalyco, a handmade jewelry designer and manufacturer based in Los Angeles, today announced that it has partnered with Island Technologies to launch its new shopping website, lalyco.com. The new ecommerce site was created using Island’s versatile and robust Island Cart framework.

Lalyco’s handmade jewelry designs are the product of the mind, hands and heart of company founder Laura Mercado, whose upbringing in the picturesque seaside resort city of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, led her to a wholly original fusion of the arts and crafts of various cultures, including those native to Mexico, as well as beyond.

Explains Ms. Mercado, “Puerto Vallarta is where I developed my artistic talent as a jewelry designer. I was inspired by my beautiful town, as well as by the many people from different cultures who I met there, and I came up with the idea of creating the type of jewelry that delivers that special fusion of cultures, from native Huichol and Cora art to modern American and European fashion trends.”

Lalyco’s jewelry employs the use of a variety of striking minerals and other natural materials, as well as colorful, one of a kind seed beads, similar to those used by the indigenous ethnic groups living in the Sierra Madre Occidental in the Mexican states of Nayarit and Jalisco.

Visitors to lalyco.com can peruse and purchase a wide variety of handmade pieces, including necklaces, bracelets and earrings.
