Kickstarter Project Launched to Promote the Magic of Puerto Vallarta Solsuntree Productions

Solsuntree Productions' "Vallarta" is a show depicting the lives and adventures of those running Playa Azul, a fictitious time-share in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Vallarta: Back Story

In 1984 Steve first came to the magical bay called Vallarta following a premonition. He told his partner at the time that he didn't know why but he had to go to PV. They made their plans and a friend asked them to bring a package of goodies to her brother and sister in law. They met the in-laws in PV delivered the package and thought nothing of it. About a year later Steve heard the in-laws moved back to the states and he was making a fortune in real estate. Steve was so frustrated with teaching that he resigned his position and never looked back. The in-law became Steve’s real estate mentor and coach. That one trip to PV altered Steve’s life in untold ways.

The magic of Vallarta struck again in 2000. Steve met Meridy Volz an artist friend living in PV at the time, whose story is a part of our production. Meridy has been a cherished confidant and friend.

In 2004, Steve was sitting in a cafe in PV observing the street scene of ex patriots, tourists and locals all connected in bringing the magic to a colonial Mexican sea port and thought "this crazy place would make a great tv show”. Three years later Steve met Jaime Soria and shared the vision of the show. Love Boat meets Fantasy Island, meets Dynasty. Jaime's experience visiting PV coincided with that vision.
 
The magic continued as Steve and Jaime wrote a script and quickly assembled actors to portray the characters with background support from family and friends. But how do you shoot a story about Vallarta in Palm Springs? It became obvious that they needed to add the Vallarta experience to capture the concept. In February 2013 Steve went to PV to film street scenes and landmark locations and generally capture the "Vallarta Spirit." There he met Daniel Alvarez of 420 estudio productions, and spent several days just capturing the sights and spirit of Vallarta. Daniel brought the knowledge and connections that allowed filming in a casino, spa, yoga class, Marriot hotels, and ignite the locals to participate more than enthusiastically. Then and there, Steve realized the possibility of Vallarta having an audience north and south of the border.
 
Steve and Jaime have been to PV no less than 30 times and know it is a magical place which an international audience can relate to. A full scale production of the series Vallarta will cost more than $500k. With that in mind, they are pursuing raising funds through Kickstarter. Such funds will enable a strategic marketing package to attract the necessary investors for a show this magnitude.
 
Steve and Jaime have potential investors from both Mexican and American business and government interests. To date Vallarta would be one of the first shows on a webisode or traditional television formats to be developed and produced using a combined US and Mexican pool of talent in front of and behind the camera. We have done our research and Hollywood is looking for this type of programming.
