Secretary Nayarit Tourism Raúl Rodrigo Pérez Hernández

In the absence of precise information on the start of construction of a bikeway between Bucerias and Nuevo Vallarta, the Secretary of Tourism of Nayarit was interviewed by AZ News where he stated that this work is planned to start next year and not this year as previously scheduled.

Raúl Rodrigo Pérez Hernández explained that they are currently in the process of planning and resource management to determine if the proposed bike path would be "beneficial for tourist development and recreational spaces in our destination."

The Nayarit tourism representative said that they were recently granted a resource of over 10 million pesos that is earmarked to invest in improvements to the town of Bucerias where it seeks to restructure the urban image of the main square with a rearrangement of established merchants and mobile vendors.

In that sense, Pérez Hernández stressed that the bike path issue falls within the category of 'Tourist Rescue' and they will be spending the remainder of 2013 in determining the plans.

In finishing, he said that this is part of the state's tourist program in creating "Paraísos Nayaritas" ("Nayarit Havens") which has already been effective in the towns of Sayulita, Lo de Marcos, San Pancho and elsewhere.
