As part of the Mexico Independence festivities in Puerto Vallarta, Andrea Citlally Curiel Rodríguez was crowned Miss Vallarta 2013.

The final judging for the beauty pageant was held Saturday evening on the Malecon and sharing the stage for the coronation were the Mayor of Puerto Vallarta, Ramón Guerrero Martínez, President of DIF Vallarta, Magaly Fregoso Ortiz, and singer Mariano Barba.

Sharing the spotlight were Dulce Guadalupe Sánchez as first runner-up and Blanca Esther Meza Rodríguez as second runner up for the Miss Vallarta title.

The final six candidates for Señorita Vallarta took the stage in three different sessions from which the judges would make their final decisions on choosing the winner and runner-ups. Jury and special guests included actor Ferdinando Valencia, couture designers Salvador Moreno and Álvaro Íñiguez, TV's Concepción Hinojosa, as well as municipal trustee Roberto Ascencio Castillo and councilman Humberto Gómez Arévalo.

The two hour event began with the presentation of the candidates on the catwalk, followed by cocktail dresses and evening gown competitions. The candidates were asked questions about the history of Mexico, which was included as part of the final judging.

Miss Vallarta 2013, Andrea Citlally Curiel Rodríguez, was crowned by the Queen of the October Guadalajara Fiesta, Natalia Villasante.

As the finale, the crowd was entertained by singer Mariano Barba, creator of songs such as 'Una Noche Más' ('One More Night') and  'Te Amo' ('I Love You').
