For the 5th consecutive year, the warm waters of Rincon de Guayabitos, low swells and moderate winds, which has earned the nickname of being the world's largest pool, Aquatic Marathon's XXI edition will be held on Saturday, October 19th.

The event began in 1992 in Manzanillo, Colima, and was also held in Lake Chapala, Jalisco, but it is in Rincon de Guayabitos where they found excellent conditions and facilities for this swimming event.

Safety of the participants is guaranteed with 20 vessels, kayaks, and nine buoys.

The Director of Nayarit Institute of Physical Culture and Sport, David Aguilar Estrada, stressed the importance of open spaces and provides the endorsement "to promote such events such as this one which is already an Olympic sport and in this edition we seek to break the record of more than five hundred participants from 20 states across the country."

Aguilar Estrada said that the present government is always ready to open the doors and to support those who come to Riviera Nayarit to promote sports such as the Open Water competition and congratulated the ABH for promoting the event and bringing the associated economic benefits to the region.

Roberto Ramirez Maldonado, Director of Promotion, explained that the Marathon is considered the best of Mexico and eventually among the best in the world.
