PV Police Receive Crime Scene Training by Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences AZ Noticias

The Jalisco Institute of Forensic Officers are conducting training sessions for members of the Puerto Vallarta Police Department.

The purpose of this training is to teach advanced forensic procedures to ensure proper practices at crime scenes since the Police Officers are normally the first to arrive at these locations.

These types of courses are part of the coordinated work performed between the Police Department the three municipal levels of government "to ensure the correct application of the procedures to register a criminal act" as announced in a press release.

It is important that the scene of the crime is preserved to help determine the evidence and to help reconstruct what happened and to determine the historical truth of the facts.

The initial class lasted eight hours and was dictated by the Delegate of the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences, Ignacio Pérez Martínez, who reported that the subjects taught related to the responsibility of the Police at a crime scene, where they should intervene and the protocol to follow.

Pérez Martínez also emphasized the importance of the Police Officers to know the criminal code and procedures of the state of Jalisco and the regulation of proper procedures.

He highlighted the excellent participation and interest shown by the 62 participants who suggested that more courses of this type should be offered to ensure the proper performance of their duties.

Pérez Martínez said that there are already four more dates scheduled for the delivery of the same course to the remaining Police Officers and the plan is to continue with other ongoing courses.
