Hola Brother Firefighters and Friends of the Puerto Vallarta Bomberos,

The Puerto Vallarta Fire Department needs to increase its number of stations due to long response times to various parts of the city.

At this time the city is in no position to purchase trucks or equipment. For this reason we need your help in finding donations of vehicles and equipment sufficient to open FIVE new stations.

Thank you for your assistance and if you need a more formal request, please advise and we can provide one. If the possibility exists that you may have surplus equipment to donate, please send me the particulars and we will process the necessary documents.

The equipment Puerto Vallarta requires to expand from one fire station to 6 over the next 3 years is very significant, it in part includes:

• 5 new fire station locations

• 1 Radio System

• 3 Large Fire Engines (Type 1)

• 2 Mid-Size Fire Engines (Type 3)

• 4 Patrols

• 2 Water Tankers

• 1 Command Vehicle

• 1 Heavy Rescue/Hazmat Truck

• 3 Ambulances

• 1 Small Fire Boat

Plus, all the small equipment needed for each of the above vehicles. Far too much to list.

At our recent Project Team meeting, we identified our first year objectives to be:

• 2 Large Fire Engines (we’ll purchase in US)

• 2 Mid-Size Fire Engines (we’ll purchase in US)

• 2 Ambulances (working on donation of these)

• 1 Radio System (purchase in US)

• Firefighter Protective Equipment (turnouts and SCBA - donations and purchase at auction in US)

The city of Puerto Vallarta would greatly appreciate any donations and the community will be informed of any donations and who the donors are.
