One of the most striking destinations we will visit is the island of Janitzio in Lake Patzcuaro, a very steep, rocky island that is completely covered with people and buildings.

Last February, we had a fantastic trip through the Copper Canyon that was so much fun that we decided to plan another adventure for February 2014.

The plan is to take a Monarchs and Michoacan Tour for four days/three nights on February 5 - 8, 2014.

Our bus will depart from Marina Vallarta at 7:00 am on Feb 5 and get us to Guadalajara around noon, where we will have lunch and a brief walking tour around downtown Guadalajara.

We take off for Morelia around 2:00 and expect to arrive around 5:00, check into the Hotel Catedral, followed by a walking tour of the historic center of Morelia with an optional lights tour at 7:00. Your on your own for the rest of the evening.

Day 2, February 6, will begin with breakfast (included) at the hotel and travel to El Oro for a brief tour. We plan to arrive in Tlalpujahua around 12:30, with a brief tour and lunch (included).

We'll then travel to the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary, where you can choose to ride horseback or hike, then it's back to Morelia for your choice of activities and dinner.

Day 3 begins with breakfast (included) at the hotel and check-out. We'll travel to Lake Patzcuaro pier where we'll take a two hour boat tour and visit of Janitzio Island, followed by travel to Lake Zirahuén for lunch (included).

There will be a tour and shopping in Santa Clara del Cobre with check-in at the Pátzcuaro Hotel (Hotel Mansión Iturbe, or similar). It's Pottery Market Day so we'll have a walking and shopping tour. Free evening in Pátzcuaro. Dinner on your own.

Day 4 will begin with breakfast (included) and check-out at the hotel, followed by a tour of Tzintzuntzan Prehispanic Site. You'll have about 3 hours on your own in Tlaquepaque and we will head back to Marina Vallarta around 4:00, with expected arrival around 9:00 pm.

What's Included?

• Luxury Bus transportation – depending on size of group either a Mercedes Sprinter or 40 passenger bus with bathroom, etc.
• Buses will be NON-SMOKING.
• Hotel rooms based on double occupancy (3 nights)
• Breakfast at hotel each day.
• Lunch 3 days except the last day
• Entrance into Butterfly Sanctuary and horseback ride to see butterflies
• Boat ride to Janitzio Island
• We will have our own bus driver and at least one profesional & bilingual guide(s).
• Tips are NOT included.

The more the merrier... plus as the number of registrations increase, the more perks we will receive and the rate is discounted.

Conditions:

• We require a $280 US/per person deposit to reserve your space. Prefer cash but PAYPAL (credit cards) are an option.
• The balance will be due 45 days before the trip departure. Balance will vary based on final count of people.
• No refunds after 30 days before the trip unless we (or you) are able to sell your space(s) then, we can refund your trip.
