An enthusiastic group of charros of the city invite you to the Fourth Charro Tournament (Mexican Rodeo) and a gala of mariachis to take place in Puerto Vallarta on June 21 - 23, 2013.

Alfonso Bernal Romero reported that the initiative comes with the double intention to further promote the national sport and to raise the monetary resources to perform eye surgeries for children of low income families in Puerto Vallarta.

It is an unselfish collaboration organized by the owners of the Charro Arena Vallarta and Rotary Club of Puerto Vallarta South to help those families who cannot afford the medical care needed for their children's eye problems.

Sponsors of the event, Alfonso Bernal and Raúl Díaz, state "we want to make the charreada fans feel motivated to participate in this event while contributing to a good cause. This way we link a very special national activity with another also very Mexican social solidarity."

A portion of funds raised from the sale of tickets will be donated to the altruistic Rotary Club Puerto Vallarta South,  so take advantage of supporting a cause of very important health resources. "We know that there is much need in the country, but the important thing is to be able to contribute our grain of sand in this region because there are many children who need support with operations to see and thus to study in order to earn a living in the future."

Organizers report that this Fourth Charro Tournament will include a grand finale with a gala of mariachis, including the performing groups of Real de América de Vallarta and Navidad de Mascota, two of the most recognized of the Western mariachi bands in the country. The combination of the Mexican Rodeo and Mexican Mariachis will allow the sports fans to also enjoy Mexican music in an ideal setting.

"In this way, we are sure that attendees will enjoy an outstanding program, and you will have the three days of thrilling rodeo activities followed by first-class entertainment."

In addition Charro teams from Puerto Vallarta, there will be a team from Tepic, Nayarit, and another from Rosarito, Sinaloa.

Competitions will begin on Friday, June 21, at 4:00 pm followed by the second tournament at 7:00 pm. On Saturday, tournaments will be at 12:00 noon, 4:00 and 7:00 pm with intermission and finale entertainment by Mariachi Navidad. Sunday semi-final competitions begin at 12:00 noon with the top three groups competing for the winner's trophy at 4:00 pm. Mariachi de America will provide the entertainment finale.

Donation entry fee is 100 pesos for adults, children are free.
