Formal session for the anniversary celebration of Puerto Vallarta

During the formal session by the Foundation of Puerto Vallarta on the 95th anniversary of Puerto Vallarta as a Municipality and 45th anniversary as a City, the Governor of the State, Aristóteles Sandoval Díaz, promised to declare the mountains of Puerto Vallarta as a protected area, in conjunction with the request expressed by Mayor Ramon Guerrero Martínez.

In his speech for the City Foundation, Governor Aristóteles Sandoval reported progress and commitments for Puerto Vallarta's promotion, such as the 10 million dollars for a regional development between Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit in developing a higher connectivity of the two locations.

The Governor further acknowledged that residents of our coastal city enjoy a better quality of life compared to the rest of the State because the combination between the mountains and the sea.

"What the government needs to do is to restore this relationship that somehow was divided between environment and development, so we will seek to have the development while preserving the environment. Together with the Mayor, we will  declare the mountain areas to be recognized as our natural environmentally protected area," said the Governor.

Similarly, he said he was committed to restore the care for the environment, hence he endorsed the appointment of Félix Fernando Baños, Primio Vallarta 2013, who has been a staunch defender of Puerto Vallarta with a respect for nature. "What we need is more people like Félix Fernando Baños who recognize all that Puerto Vallarta has to give and are willing to give back to the community."

"We defend our integrity and heritage of Vallartenses and, Mr. Governor, we have hopes that this will be achieved with your support," stated the Mayor, and within minutes, an affirmative response was received from the Governor.
