Volunteers Needed for the Las Juntas Park Clean-Up and Rejuvenation Arlene Prieto - Amigos AC

We hope you can join Amigos AC and the community volunteers on Sunday, June 8, for our second Las Juntas Park clean-up and rejuvenation efforts.

This park is located inside the Las Juntas pueblo before getting on Puente Ameca towards Bucerias.

Unfortunately, these individuals do not have sufficient funds to sometimes feed themselves let alone try to assist in a park rejuvenation. What we have taught the ones that listen is that if you come together as a community you can maintain the local park.

Our first scheduled park clean-up shows the difference that can be made and the "before" and "after" photos speak for themselves.

Here is a small list of items we could use along with volunteers:

• Trash bags
• Brooms
• Rakes
• Paint
• Paint Brushes

Please note that none of the items mentioned are a requirement for the volunteers to participate. All are welcome regardless of what can be brought or not.

There are two slides in this park which are damaged. One more severe than the other, but both are unsafe for children.  We have found welders that volunteer their services to fix the slide, but unfortunately as of yet it is still in need of fixing. The swings require new chain links with potential welding as well.

There is still much to do, but the good news is we're almost done.   

The scheduled maintenance the park will require is already gaining progress by local youths.
