The hotels of Puerto Vallarta use the arrival of the low season to remodel and upgrade their facilities. Ignacio Cadena, President of the Hotel and Motel Association of Puerto Vallarta, stated this week that tourists increasingly expect not only good upkeep, but greater innovation in their tourist destinations of choice.
The weeks before summer vacation, which begin in early July, are the perfect time for hotels to paint their rooms in new colors, change the furnishings, reupholster the furniture, upgrade their pool or common areas, and do overall maintenance. The remodeling carries with it the added benefit that the hotels often donate or sell at reduced prices the furnishings that they will no longer use, and non-profit organizations or hotel employees are frequently the recipients of their altruism.
