Punta Sayulita Principal, Kevin Roberts, and Punta Sayulita professional team rider, Ryan Helm, have teamed up to cross the historic Molokai Channel and compete in the 17th Annual Molokai 2 Oahu Paddleboard World Championships. The race date is July 28, 2013.
Competing in the 2-person team division on a 14ft SUP board, Kevin & Ryan will be testing their abilities and mother nature for the grueling 32-mile channel crossing known as the "Channel of Bones" which resulted in the destruction of entire ancient canoe fleets and claimed the lives of modern-day fisherman and watermen.
Each human powered race across the Channel of Bones is regarded worldwide as the crowning achievement of the sport.
Please consider donating as little as $1 per mile ($32) to support Kevin & Ryan's team with all proceeds raised going to support the Reef Check Sayulita & Punta Sayulita Foundation children's educational and sports development programs in Sayulita. Our goal is $7,500.
