Get Involved and Volunteer in River Clean-Up and Reforestation Activities Claudia Patricia Cabillos - Grupo Ecologico

Grupo Ecologico is involved in reforestation, recycling, community clean-up, Pitillal river rescue and the Vallarta Verde Program.

The Ecological Group of Puerto Vallarta believes that residents of Bahia de Banderas have the legal right and moral responsibility to participate in the conservation of the natural beauty and wildlife of the area as essential elements of our community, and that public education and community involvement are necessary to obtain high, enduring levels of interest in conservation of local ecosystems.

On Sunday mornings, we need volunteers to help clean the banks of the Pitillal River and also, this time of year, we are dedicated to ensure that the trees are watered that were planted in other seasons in conjunction with our Reforestation Program.

Following is our April 2013 schedule:

• April 14 - 8:00 am - Rivera Norte between Ave. Fco Villa and Grandes Lagos - Area 3

• April 21 - 8:00 am - Rivera Sur between Ave. Las Torres and Av. Federacion - Area 1

• April 28 - 8:00 am - Rivera Norte between Ave. Fco Villa and Grandes Lagos - Area 3

If possible, we need you to bring water buckets, a shovel and drinking water. We suggest you wear casual clothing, comfortable shoes, gloves and a cap.
