Petr Myska will lead you through the professional techniques required in using digital technology in nature photography.
The workshop will be held at the Puerto Vallarta Convention Center with hands-on training at the adjacent Estero el Salado, Puerto Vallarta's Ecological Protected Area, on May 8-11, 2013.
This Basic Course on Digital Nature Photography is targeted for students, teachers and the general public that use digital photography as a tool for research, or simply is you are interested in nature photography.
Learn how to use the digital camera, compact or professional, with practical techniques for nature photography.
Instruction will include:
• Elements that make up the camera
• Basic elements of a photograph
• Goal types and their uses
• Management of light: Aperture, shutter and ISO
• Use of camera in manual mode
• Composition
• Digital image handling
• ... and more
Your registration fee will include:
• Manual
• Coffee Breaks
• Digital display for printing. Note: Digital printing will remain as photographic archive for the ANP Estero El Salado giving the respective credit to the author of the photo.
The best photo of each participant will be expanded to display within the framework of World Day.
Requirements for participants include a digital camera, either compact, semi-professional or professional (it is preferable that your compact digital camera contains Manual mode). It is highly recommended to bring a tripod.
Course Schedule:
Wednesday, May 8
• 5:00 - 6:30 pm, Opening presentation including theory and elements that make up the camera, objectives and light management. The show of "El Salado" will be presented at the International Convention Center with practice in the "El Coyul" trail.
• 6:30 - 7:30 pm, Practice
Thursday, May 9
• 5:00 - 6:30 pm, Presentation on the digital image and its formation, composition, direction, and texture lines.

• 6:30 - 7:30 pm, Practice
Friday, May 10
• 5:00 - 6:30 pm, Detailed presentation on photographic equipment. The show of "El Salado" will be presented at the International Convention Center with practice in the "El Coyul" trail.
• 6:30 - 7:30 pm, Practice
Saturday, May 11
• 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, Field practice on the channel of Estero el Salado
• 1:00 pm, Review and closing of the course
The pre-registration until April 30 is 900 pesos per person. After May 1, the registration will be 1,600 pesos.
The course is limited to 20 participants, so register early.
