Leche/Milk Gala Benefit for Babies at Risk K. Littlechild - SETAC-GLBT

When a mother looks into the huge eyes of your newborn baby and hears his first cries for leche, she gently cradles him against the warmth of her body, and  with her heart filled with awe and love for her tiny, innocent babe most mothers begin to breast feed their offspring. Sadly, this is not the case for Mom's struggling with the Aids virus.
 
What a terrible position to be in; she is taking a huge chance if she feeds her child breast milk, but she will surely die if she cannot give him nourishment.
 
There is no social net in Puerta Vallarta, no Milk Bank, no resources to help give formula/leche to these newborns.

There are 12 babies who are at risk of getting the Aids virus through their Mother's milk. We can help by supporting a Gala Benefit for Babies at Risk.

Join us on March 19, 2013, at the beautiful Encuentres Restaurant in Old Town Vallarta, located at Lazaro Cardenas 308.
 
We are excited that Encuentros is hosting this event. Doors open 5:00 pm and the program starts 6:00. No early birds please.

There will be Door Prizes, Raffles and 50/50's with a Fashion Show by Cobblestones.

Donation tickets are only 300 pesos. 100 pesos will go for food and drink and the other 200 pesos will be used for the babies' formula.

Introducing our new Sponsorship Program: Only $7,000 US will feed 14 babies for a whole year OR you can sponsor a wee one (newborn) or a 1 1/2 year old.
