The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) - composed of a club of 34 countries which produce 60 percent of global goods and services and of which Mexico is a part - has given failing grades in recent months to the policies implemented by the administration of Enrique Peña Nieto in the areas of health, education and security.

Last May the rating in its Better Life Index ranked Mexico in the penultimate position of the members of the organization, just ahead of Turkey.

In October, the club of nations that call themselves democratic and developed countries considered Mexico the most insecure of its members because of the crime rate and recorded homicides nationwide. It received a score of zero.

"Mexico is the member state with the highest murder rate, but is also the country where there is a high regional disparity in these crimes. The homicide rate is 56 times higher in Chihuahua than in the Yucatan."

Indices reported by the OECD also placed Mexico in last place in education, and among the lowest positions in per capita income.
