| @REVURBANA: December 13, nobody pays metro. There are different ways to get past, no excuse. #PosMeSalto (Twitter) |
Wow! They did it again: Mexico’s PRD “applied a survey (whatever that might mean) and THE PEOPLE agreed to accept the raise of the metro ticket from $3.00 to $5.00 pesos on December 13”. Wow! I am astonished to say the least. THE PEOPLE accepts a raise of almost 50%; hard to believe. (Well, the government pretends to believe it).
I am a professional statistician and AT LEAST I would expect a survey’s methodology and design. But not! The PRD and the people decided on “a survey” (whatever that might mean or whatever that might be) that they would agree on having a raise on the price of the metro ticket. The PRD’s policies in Mexico City are despite all common sense. And this one is not the only raise, but let’s keep focus.
For my dear readers, it must be explained that a survey has to begin with a design, has a cost, has a procedure, has a questionnaire and has a result and all these elements must be together and clearly explained. If they want us to believe it, this kind of survey should have been presented on the media and they would have shown certain people collecting data and eventually show that in fact the survey was carried out within the usual statistical practice. Then, there is the report: Usually accompanied by graphs and a certain jargon that makes, at least the study “a bit credible”. This way it would eventually pass as a professional job…. None of these was present anywhere. What is even worse is that today’s political parties spend millions in “image” and here there is no image: Images’ expenses… but of course. Certainly somebody charged millions for a survey that apparently does not exist without any image…
This practice is carried out by the PRD when they want to justify an increase of price of whatever. They do not ask if a corrupt proven official should be removed from office or from the political party. Buddies are kept in post: they only have 3 or 6 years to become multimillionaires and certainly next time it might be your turn and another buddy will get you out of a theft procedure that will never be proved. Don’t take me wrong: this is common practice in ALL political parties. Today’s turn is the PRD.
Now, let’s come to hard data: In a spiral in which the Federal Government raises the gasoline once a month (gas prices are above the US prices: more than the US$3.09 a gallon) that the local government raised the price of common transportation about four months ago (a raise of some 30%), that taxes are increasing continuously; that electricity, water and other services increase every other month (almost forgot: there is less and less water and they charge you for a service that they do not provide but you must pay according to international standards).
But salaries do not increase; you must be completely out of your mind to believe that THE PEOPLE accepted this proposal. What governments are doing with the population (which is also PRI’s common practice) is to drawn them: then, the great President of the country gives a breath of air that allows people to worship him as God. Another proof is that people of lower income have threatened the local government of jumping the metro counters to enter the metro for free. That did not form part of the questions but certainly will form part of THE PEOPLE’s answers.
You cannot have a contingent of police at every metro station entry (there are 195 stations) and they will have to face also these hard facts. Also the fact that Mexico’s police can be bought and Xmas is around the corner: Everybody gains!!!. The government (federal and local) does not seem to see that there are more and more people in the streets of the Capitol City selling whatever, mainly food, because there are no jobs and the ones available pay peanuts. And they dear think that the people approve still another raise in expenses?
You must be out of your mind to even think that this is possible… or do you, my dear reader: do you believe it?
