Mexico will, for a second consecutive time, face the host nation in the World Cup, but this time it will be against the vaunted – and favorite to win the World Cup – Brazil.

The Mexican national was drawn into Group A in the World Cup draw that took place in Bahia, Brazil on Friday.

El Tri has been in the middle of a media storm since the hexagonal in the CONCACAF. Their poor performances, coupled with the instability that comes with having 4 coached during World Cup qualifying, brought them to the brink of a World Cup let down.

A late-game goal by the United States’ Graham Zusi against Panama put Mexico through to their World Cup qualifying playoff against New Zealand.

The big doubt left before Brazil 2014 is whether or not Mexico will take their European-based players, or will they go with all domestic league players.

Mexico’s match ups in Group A

Mexico vs. Cameroon

Mexico will have to face Cameroon in their first group match. The Africans boast a lot of experience. The likes of Samuel Eto’o and Alexandre Song are sure to give Mexico all they can handle.

Mexico vs. Croatia

Miguel Herrera’s men will have to face Croatia as well. The match up against the European side will have an interesting twist to it, as both teams had to take part in World Cup playoffs in order to qualify to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Mexico vs. Brazil

The match against the hosts will be a tough mountain to climb. Brazil is coming in with the pressure of being one of the favorites to win the whole thing in front of their countrymen.
