Many of the world's dinosaur fossils have been found in the country and to showcase the incredible discoveries of the past, the Regional Museum in Queretaro has opened an exhibition to display Mexico's most significant finds, which include a duck-billed dinosaur.

The Stone Ancestors exhibit is centred around a mammoth reaching four metres in height, as well as a 4.8 million-year-old wild boar from the Cenozoic Era.

The exhibition also features trilobite and ammonite fossils from the Palaeozoic Era, as well as the cranium and teeth of a sabre-toothed tiger.

Fossils of marine plants such as corral, snails and other molluscs are there too, and turtles also form part of the exhibition which intends to tell the story of Mexico's history going back 70 million years.
