Earlier this month at Mexico City’s Campo Marte, the capital’s premier equestrian venue, St. Regis defeated Audi to win the 23rd Mexico Polo Open. The annual event featured four teams - Audi, Fishers (restaurant group), ESPN and St. Regis - that faced off for seven games with top players from México, Italy, Portugal, and Brazil.
The November 9 championship match was played under an enormous Mexican flag waving above the emerald field that is part of Los Pinos, the official residence and office of the President of Mexico. Thousands of spectators filled the stands while VIPs crowded into the St. Regis hospitality tent to watch the match while sipping champagne and the hotel’s famous Bloody Marys.
... On December 19 and 20, a St. Regis team captained by Nacho Figueras will participate in the upcoming Aspen Snow Polo World Cup in Colorado.
