Children portray drug lords, corrupt police officers and human traffickers in "Niños Incómodos" (Nuestro Mexico Del Futuro/Alex Rey)

This video, created by Nuestro Mexico Del Futuro, was originally published in 2012 during Mexico's presidential election as a means of demanding change from presidential candidates: "If this is the future that awaits me I don't want it," says a girl at the end of the video. "Time is up. Mexico has hit rock bottom."

The video has recently resurfaced on Mexican social media following continuing dissatisfaction with President Enrique Peña Nieto's inability to enact adequate social reforms in the country. The video is a powerful reminder of some of the greatest problems still facing Mexico: pollution, crime, drugs and illegal migration.

The images are all the more powerful as they feature children, reminding us that the biggest victims of political innaction are the future or the country - our children. Crime is one of the biggest concerns facing the country which still reports in excess of 1,500 crimes per 100,000 inhabitants.
