MEXICO CITY - The Mexican and Cuban governments signed eight cooperation agreements in different areas including tourism, trade, education and the environment, authorities said.
"What we've done today (Friday) I think has been to revive, strengthen, continue. We signed a series of legal instruments that are undoubtedly very important," Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said at the close of a keynote address he gave here at the Mexican Foreign Relations Secretariat, where he answered a question about the bilateral accords.
The instruments include a letter of intent on bilateral cooperation, an extradition treaty and a mutual legal assistance treaty in criminal matters.
The countries also broadened their economic complementarity agreement and Mexico expanded a credit line aimed at boosting exports to Cuba.
