Nike We Run Mexico DF 2012 (RunMX)

In the week leading up to Día de Muertos, Mexico's Halloween, Nike de Mexico invited over 400 runners to a special 6.5K challenge in preparation for the upcoming We Run series.

The run started at 9:30 pm on Oct. 26 in the middle of Bosque de Tlalpan, one of Mexico City's most iconic parks. Runners ran along a candlelit path, racing towards a finish line that doubled as a colorful altar filled with flowers, portraits and sugar skulls.

To add to the allure of the night, Nike de Mexico presented the Nike Air Max Glow Collection. The collection, inspired by the importance of being visible during night runs, made the perfect accompaniment to the typical Dia de Muertos disguises, including the traditional La Catrina, "Lady of the Dead," the classic symbol for the holiday.

... We Run Mexico will take place on Nov. 3 in Guadalajara, Nov. 17 in Monterrey and on Nov. 24 in México City. Follow the We Run 2013 journey by clicking here.
