TIJUANA - The international border station at San Ysidro witnessed the cries of protest from immigrants who urged "the halt of the persecution and arbitrary abuse from the Municipal Police."
More than 200 people left the Migrants Camp. They gathered between the line that divides Mexico and the United States and before hundreds of automobiles, demonstrated their dissatisfaction.
"Here the police are a scourge for immigrants," said Sergio Tamai, head of Angels without Frontiers.
He recalled that the Colegio de la Frontera Norte, carried out a study where it was determined that people deported from the United States have been victims of police abuse.
He issued a recommendation that the arbitrary persecutions by the police be stopped.
"It is a reality that the police are assaulting and robbing the migrants, in addition to criminalizing them," he said.
