MEXICO CITY - The march yesterday afternoon to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the student massacre perpetrated in the Plaza of the Three Cultures in Tlatelolco [large archeological site about 1 mile north of the Zocalo, the plaza in the Historic Center], led by members of the Committee of 68, was proceeding in peace... until 'hawks', 'ears' and anarchists broke into it.

After the activists placed wreaths at the memorial [in the Plaza of Three Cultures] with the names of some of those killed by the Army under then President Gustavo Diaz Ordaz, of the PRI, the square began to fill with young "anarchists".

They arrived in groups of 10, most with their faces covered with bandanas or hoods of dark colors. At the same time, others in plain clothes, appeared in groups of 10. They were the modern "hawks"

... Also dozens of "ears" of the Secretariat of Government Relations swarmed about, identifiable by their Metro Public Transport Service or the Public Transport Network vests, but who constantly monitored, signaling one another by their nicknames such as "Cobra" or "Eagle".
