President Enrique Peña Nieto declared yesterday that the government is committed to, “Restoring Michoacán to a state of normality, tranquility, peace, development and economic growth,” and “the vitality and status it enjoyed for many years as a thriving state with great development within the country.”

“We will work for the tranquility and peace of Michoacán,” he said during the event at which he announced several actions that will permit the modernization of the state’s infrastructure.

He told the families of Michoacán: “Rest assured that we will work very hard to recover what Michoacán has lost, which has made it fall behind.”

President Peña Nieto added: “We will work to achieve greater development through better infrastructure, because, in the end, roads, ports and better communication between your communities is what facilitates the progress and development of communities.”
