For the past few weeks, there have been mass protests by unionized public school teachers in Mexico's capital against President Enrique Peña Nieto's plan to overhaul Mexico's long-neglected education system. The educational reform has passed, but it wasn't easy, and controlling its aftermath will be immensely challenging. CCTV's Franc Contreras has more. (cctvamericasnow)

Teachers of Section 22 of Oaxaca agreed to take decisive actions this week, such as blocking the roads near the International Airport of Mexico City (AICM), Metro stations and the "liberation" of gas stations to protest the educational reform.

Other demonstrations on "the menu of actions" to demand the repeal of the amendments to Articles 3 and 73 of the Constitution are blocking the toll booths on the main entrances and exits of the city.

Based on the agreements reached at the State Assembly, which concluded Sunday morning at 3 am, the tactical battle will be strengthened with contingents from Veracruz and Chiapas, who joined the demonstrations in Mexico City in recent days.
