Guerrero, Mexico (visitmex)

ACAPULCO - The Secretary of Tourism recognizes the solidarity shown by the providers of tourism services as well as the hotels and the airlines during the last few days.

Given the state of emergency currently in force in Acapulco, the tourism sector will be fundamental to the recovery of the Guerrero economy.

The Secretary of Tourism will get to work immediately on a promotional campaign called “Acapulco is back on its feet”, with the objective of repositioning this port as a world class tourist destination.

The Secretary of Tourism recognizes the solidarity shown by the providers of tourism services as well as the hotels and the airlines during the last few days.

Thanks to this solidarity and to the coordinated efforts of the Federal and State government departments, tourists stranded in the port after the very heavy rainfall were rescued.

The promotion will therefore focus on reconstruction in collaboration with the providers of tourism services, with the objective of providing sources of employment for the people of Acapulco.
