Mexico is second, in the first half of 2013, among the 34 countries member of the Organization for Cooperation and Economic Development (OCED) where food prices rose more, only exceeded by Turkey.
A report of that body spread here noted that from January to March this year food inflation in this nation was of 6.5 percent, more than the triple of the average of 1.8 registered for the OCED countries and only below the 6.8 percent of Turkey.
In the second quarter, from April to June, the indicator rose eight points, lower than that of Turkey (8.9 points), but more than four times the average of two percent of that organization.
The OCED also noted that food inflation rose less than two percent in the first half on average in its member countries, but in Mexico was more than seven percent, which ranks among the three countries with the highest rate, surpassed by Iceland and Turkey.
