The poet and leader of the Movement for Peace with Justice and Dignity, Javier Sicilia, said that President Enrique Peña Nieto not only runs a failed State, but also a “criminal” one, because it is full of criminal and negligent politicians.

He pointed out that in Mexico there are “politicians linked to drug dealers, negligent politicians, because the crime has to do with political omissions that are there; for example, they freed the drug trafficker (Rafael) Caro Quintero, but we have the indigenous professor from Chiapas (Alberto) Patishtán and Nestora (Salgado, self-defense coordinator in Olinalá, Guerrero) in jail.”

This situation, he noted, sends a message to the Mexicans from the three branches of government and the three levels of government with the following sense: “we (the State), legally continue to beat up on you [the citizenry], while the criminals, illegally, continue to beat up on you.”
