In the current debate on the decriminalization or regulation of marijuana the points of view of the users themselves, who are continuously overshadowed and stigmatized, are being set aside, said the Artists and Organizations Front for Marijuana Liberation.
In a press conference, members of the group unveiled a "peace plan" to end "the violence generated by the current prohibitionist model" and take advantage of all the possibilities offered by cannabis, from the production of textiles and other industrial products to the generation of biodiesel.
"We have been a stigmatized minority, discriminated against by the authorities who have only allowed those whom they consider appropriate to speak, but not those of us primarily concerned," Danae Díaz Quiroz stated.
... Therefore, the group called on the head of the Mexico City government, Miguel Ángel Mancera, to stop discrimination against those who are seeking to decriminalize marijuana, and that their legislative proposals regarding the topic be taken into account, including in the public debate with the political parties, the press and academia.
