While most girls her age would be scared to swim in the ocean, Sophia Martinez, from Alamo in Texas, USA, enjoys snorkeling and freediving off the coast of Mexico.

She not alone though, she is joined by her dad Eli - and dozens of whale sharks. Daring shark fan Sophia swam for two hours within touching distance of the 20 ton creatures.

Hundreds of whale sharks come to feed at Isla Mujeres, Mexico, each year - its the largest gathering of the whale sharks in the world.
